Microsoft, HEC bring 'Imagine Cup' to Pakistan once again

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) in collaboration with Microsoft is bringing `Microsoft's Imagine Cup' to Pakistan.

Microsoft's Imagine Cup, a premium student technology competition, has been taking place in Pakistan for more than a decade now. It is an incredible opportunity for the youth to participate and utilise their potential and passion towards creating technological solutions. Finalists have the chance to win a prize worth $100,000.

Each team will be required to submit their project, including details such as software instructions and video One Drive URL. Participants will first compete at the regional level and then the winning teams will qualify for the national level.

Evaluations at both national and international levels will be made on the basis of deliverables submitted to the Imagine Cup website, said Director IT HEC Anwar Amjad.

Microsoft’s Imagine Cup: Pakistani students to attend global competition

A mix of judges from both academia (as directed by HEC) and industry will evaluate each project during both rounds with technology being the primary judging criteria.

Regional and national finals and relative winners will be announced on Official MSDN Pakistan Community Blog.

First held in 2003, Microsoft's Imagine Cup is an opportunity for students and young innovators from all around the world to bring their ideas and imagination to life. It gives them a chance to show how their technologies and software solutions can change the world.
