Haq Nawaz, the uncle of Samia, had filed the petition. He said some people had prepared a documentary on the murder and trial of Samia. He said the matter was being heard by a court and the release of this documentary could influence proceedings.
He requested the court order the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority not to allow the release this documentary.
The judge, after hearing the arguments, remarked that the petition was premature and dismissed it for being non-maintainable.
Samia, a 28-year-old beautician from Bradford, died in July 2016 while on a visit to Pakistan.
