Two Pakistan Navy ships on Monday arrived at Iranian Port Bandar Abbas in the Persian Gulf.
The three-day goodwill visit is in line with maritime tradition and aims at promoting peace in the region while enhancing maritime collaboration between the two friendly regional navies.
Pakistan naval ships to arrive in Sri Lanka on goodwill visit
During the visit, Pakistani and Iranian navies will hold several interactive programmes that will benefit their respective groups. On the other hand, important meetings with naval-cum-military and political leaderships on matters of mutual interests will also be organised.
Meanwhile, navies of both the countries will undertake passage exercise in order to enhance inter-operability and naval collaboration.
In September 2016, Iranian naval ships also arrived in Karachi and were warmly welcomed by the Pakistani naval officials and the Iranian diplomats. The Iranian naval group comprising ‘Lavan’, ‘Konarak’, ‘Falakhen’ and ‘Khanjar’ remained in the Pakistani port city for three days. During their visit, the Iranian naval officers and sailors had professional discussions and interactions with their Pakistani counterparts on matters of mutual interest.
