Army personnel pay homage to fallen comrade
Commanders Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur Corps recall courage of Lt Khawar Shahab.
Commander Rawalpindi Corps Lt General Nadeem Raza and Commander Bahawalpur Corps Lt General Sher Afgun paid tribute to Lt Khawar Shahab at Khuiratta, said a press release on Saturday.
Shahab was killed in action fighting terrorists in Frontier Region Bannu. The army personnel laid a wreath and offered Fateha (prayer) on his grave.
Further, the general officers paid a visit to the aggrieved family and paid homage to the supreme sacrifice Shahab made for his country.
Raza recalled his bravery and courage he demonstrated as a cadet as he was able to achieve the unique distinction of bagging the gold medal prize in a boxing competition.
The aggrieved family expressed unflinching resolve to contribute even further to peace in Pakistan, as well as to maintain the integrity and sovereignty of the country.
In the wake of the recent terror wave in the country, the armed forces decided to launch Operation Raddul Fasaad.
The air force, navy, civil armed forces and other security and law enforcement agencies are participating in efforts to eliminate terrorism from the country.
