During his visit to the Special Security Division (SSD) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, however, vowed that the security forces were fully prepared to foil the nefarious designs of the enemy.
The army chief was given a detailed briefing on the Integrated Security Mechanism led by the Special Security Division.
He reiterated the army’s commitment to ensure security for CPEC and the workforce involved. Gen Qamar also underscored the value
attached to the Chinese help and assistance extended in making these projects a success.
Pakistan will be paying China $90b against CPEC-related projects
The army chief appreciated SSD for their state of preparedness and arrangements for the execution of the assigned mission and tasks.
Earlier, on arrival, COAS was received by GOC SSD Major General Abid Rafique. Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar was also present at the occasion.
Peshawar Zalmi
The COAS met with the Pakistan Super League champions Peshawar Zalmi at the General Headquarters.
He congratulated the team and the management on their performance and success, the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a press release.
Gen Qamar appreciated all the teams and the management of PSL for bringing back cricket to the country.
He made a special mention and conveyed thanks to foreign players and guests, who came to Pakistan.
“Pakistan is a peace loving country. Cricket is the most favourite game in the country and a binding force for the nation,” he added.
He advised players to continue their pursuit of excellence and bringing a good name to Pakistan.
‘Innovation is now Pakistan’s basic currency’
The visiting players and management thanked the army chief for the support. They were pleasantly surprised to know the army chief’s attachment with cricket, his cricketing expertise and knowledge of cricket records.
They also thanked Gen Qamar for his tips and advice, and assured him that they were soldiers of Pakistan and stood with the Pakistan Army in promoting peace and national harmony.
The team acknowledged the great sacrifices made by Pakistan Army for bringing back peace and stability in the country.
