ISLAMABAD: Two teenage girls committed suicide as a man was shot dead in the capital, police said on Saturday.

Lohi Bher police said an A-Level student ended her life by shooting herself with her father’s pistol. Her body was shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Upon investigation, police said that the pistol used by the girl was a weapon licenced to her father.

In a similar incident, a 15-year-old girl committed suicide by consuming poison on Saturday in Pind Parian within the jurisdiction of Tarnol police.

Police officials said they were still investigating both suicide cases and had yet to pin down a motive for the two suicides.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead by unidentified people in Akbar Town within the jurisdiction of Khanna police on Saturday.

Body of missing man found after a year

Separately, in yet another harrowing homicide case, the body of a young man - who had been kidnapped from Shahzad Town in March last year - was found buried in the house of one of his friends.

Police said Sarfraz was kidnapped on March 10 last year.

Subsequently, police had arrested friend Usman and two other men.

The men had even been booked and later charge-sheeted them for Sarfraz’s disappearance.

During questioning by the CIA police, they told investigators that they had abducted Sarfraz then killed him. The suspects further revealed that they had buried his body.

Police said they recovered Sarfraz’s remains in a corner of Usman’s house. The colour of his clothes helped police identify his body.

Officials disclosed that Sarfraz hailed from Muzaffargarh and was living with his uncle in Shahzad Town when his friends kidnapped him.
