Here are some must try Memon dishes you should add to your culinary repertoire.
Qeema Masoor Pulao
Don’t be fooled by the name, this so-called pulao is cooked just like a biryani. However, it omits the tomatoes. Spicy Qeema and lentil is sandwiched between layers of rice along with herbs and fried onions and cooked covered on low heat. Enjoy with raita.

Bajra fritters
Pakoras made out of Bajra flour are a common dish in Memon cuisine. These can be prepared just like regular pakoras; but often incorporate minced meat and the batter is stiffer. Highly nutritious and super crispy, these are a delicious alternative to regular pakoras.
Akni
Darker in colour and spicier, Akni is Memon pulao. Cooked in a similar manner as pulao Akni is made with black cumin seeds, curry leaves, red chilies and tomatoes. Akni can be made with chicken or mutton and sometimes also incorporates potatoes.

Lasan
This is by far the most unique dish on the list. Crumbled roti made with millet flour tossed with green garlic forms the basis of this dish. It is served with yoghurt and roasted eggplant.
Dhokray
Patties made with gram flour are put aside to set until firm and stewed in a tomato curry. Tangy falvourful and fragrant, dhokray is a must-try.
