RAWALPINDI: In addition to the existing ban on kite-flying, a ban was imposed on pigeon-flying in Rawalpindi on Friday.

According to directions issued by Deputy Commissioner Talat Mehmood Gondal, the ban would last until March 23.

According to a handout issued on Friday, there would be a strict ban on pigeon and kite flying, especially on Pakistan Day when a parade is expected to be held.

Chairing a meeting in Rawalpindi, Gondal directed the district administration to launch an awareness drive through the media about the ban.

Gondal further directed the Solid Waste and Management company to ensure cleanliness in the city so that birds do not gather.
