646 graduates awarded degrees at PAF-KIET convocation

KARACHI: A total of 646 graduates were conferred degrees in various disciplines at the 14th convocation ceremony of the Pakistan Air Force - Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology (PAF-KIET) on Thursday.

The graduates were conferred degrees in management sciences, computer sciences and engineering. The College of Management Sciences awarded 42 BBAs, two BS of accounting and finance degrees, 169 MBAs and three degrees in the MS programme.

The College of Computing and Information Sciences awarded 97 BSCS degrees, 37 BS in enterprise resource planning (ERP) degrees, 26 MCS degrees, seven MBA-ERP degrees, 19 MS-computer science degrees, four MS in electrical engineering degrees, 45 to BCA and four to MCA graduates. The College of Engineering awarded 191 degrees to graduates of the BE electronics degree programme.

Graduation Ceremony: PU’s 125th convocation on Feb 2  

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah was the chief guest at the event and awarded gold and silver medals to outstanding students. The CM emphasised the importance of higher education and the significance of research and development for the progress of the country. Vice-Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Asad Lodhi was also present on the occasion as the guest of honour.

In his welcome address, PAF-KIET president Air Vice-Marshal (Retd) Tubrez Asif praised the efforts of the students and faculty, while emphasising the role of education in the development of Pakistan.

Ku convocation: Forms can be submitted till Jan 26  

The gold and silver medals were awarded to students from various departments. Gold medals were awarded to Hira Umer, Muhammad Saad, Mehak Maqbool, Mahnoor Munaf, Rida Shaikh, Saad Ahmed Sabri, Asma Khan, Imranul Haq Siddiqui, Ather Iltifat, Ramsha Kiani, Faisal Mahmood, Maryam Asad and Yasir Mehmood.

Silver medals were awarded to Asra Neelam Shahab, Sehrish, Muhammad Sadiq, Ramsho Afridi, Syed Arsalan Ahmed, M Furrukh Iqbal, Farhana Yasmeen, Muhammad Ali, M Zubair, Muhammad Faisal, Ubaidur Rehman Malik and Sidra Rahim.
