Accountability bureau chief directs officials to speed up work

ISLAMABAD: The newly constructed building meant to house the headquarters of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is scheduled to be inaugurated early next month.

This was disclosed during a visit to the new building in Sector G-5/1 by NAB Chief Qamar Zaman Chaudhry.

During a briefing on the progress made on the structure, Chaudhry was told that work on fixing granite, floor tiles and dome had been completed while work on fixing glass, internal finishes, HVAC installation was in progress.

Moreover, lifts and generators for the building have arrived in the country and would be installed shortly.

Moreover, the pace of work on external development along with finishing work such as installing false ceilings, PVC panelling had also been enhanced.

The NAB chief expressed his concerns over delays in the completion of the project as per schedule and directed all concerned officials to make sure that the building is ready for inauguration by April 10, 2017.

In this regard, Chaudhry directed the Headquarters director general, PWD, consultants and contractors to complete remaining work without further delays and ensure it adheres to quality standards in accordance with the rules. He stressed that there should be no compromise on the quality of material and execution of work. NAB Headquarters DG, Pak PWD chief engineer along with PWD team briefed the NAB chief about the project.
