On a cumulative basis, in the two months of calendar year 2017 (2MCY17), urea sales remained unchanged at 657,000 tons.
Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) and Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim’s (FFBL) cumulative urea off-take dropped by 24% MoM to 119,000 tons, according to an AHL Research report.
Similarly, Engro Fertilizers’ (EFERT) urea off-take declined by 11% MoM to stand at 95,000 tons. Fatima Fertilizer’s (FATIMA) off-take descended by 77% MoM to stand at 29,000 tons. On 2MCY17 basis, FATIMA remained an outperformer whereby off-take surged by 241% YoY to 157,000 tons while FFC and FFBL’s cumulative off-take along with EFERT declined by 16% and 24% YoY, respectively.
Closing inventory for urea with the local producers as of February 28, 2017 stood at 941,000 tons while total urea closing inventory (both local and imported) was recorded at 1,178,000 tons.
DAP sales
Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) sales showed improvement of 51% MoM and 30% YoY to 92,000 tons in Feb 2017.
On 2MCY17 basis, DAP sales showed growth of 3% YoY to stand at 153,000 tons. FFBL managed to sell 65,000 tons of DAP during February, translating into a jump of 92% MoM and 161% YoY. Furthermore, 2MCY17 cumulative figures depicted solid growth of 168% YoY, standing at 99,000 tons during the period.
EFERT DAP sales registered 156% MoM increase to 12,000 tons during the month. However, on 2MCY17 basis, the company recorded 67% YoY decline in DAP sales to 17,000 tons.
