EC gives speaker, MPAs 7 days to reply on unification bloc issue
PML-Q says speaker did not forward reference against dissidents to the EC.
LAHORE:
The Election Commission (EC) on Saturday gave a seven-day time period to Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal and nine Member of the Provincial Assembly who were elected on Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid tickets to submit their reply on the forming of the unification bloc.
During a hearing with the chief election commissioner (CEC), the counsel for PML-Q said the party had sent a reference to the speaker against its dissident members under Article 63 of the Constitution, but he had not forwarded it to the EC.
The CEC, after hearing arguments from both sides, granted seven days for their reply in this regard.
