ISLAMABAD: A 13-year-old orphaned child has been missing from the capital since February 3, but police have still not found any clues as yet. Police say Ali Hassan used to work at a motorbike mechanic’s workshop on Ghauri Garden Road with his maternal uncle, but has been missing for over a month. Koral police said that Hassan was an orphan since his father had died while his mother had remarried. Police said one of his maternal uncles brought Hassan from Kabirwala in Multan to Islamabad about two months ago. “On February 3, he said he was going to say prayers at a mosque and did not return,” the police officer said. The uncle, with whom the boy worked, looked for him and later reported his absence to the Koral police.  Police say they have contacted hospitals, orphanages, and Edhi centres but have found no clue to the boy as yet. “We have investigated the case and it seems that the boy went off on his own. The complainant too has not suspected it to be a kidnapping and has not expressed his suspicion about any one,” the official said. Police have announced a cash award of Rs5,000 for anybody who can provide information about the missing child.
