For Registered Labourers: Labour Complex nearly built: WWF

The complex is being constructed 1,476 kanals of land and consisted of 500 houses and1,008 flats

ISLAMABAD: The Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) has almost completed the construction work on the Labour Complex.

The complex is being built along the Islamabad Expressway to provide accommodation to registered industrial workers of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.



An official of WWF told APP on Tuesday that the complex was being constructed 1,476 kanals of land, and consisted of 500 houses and1,008 flats. He added that the complex would be completed by end of August while the residential units would be handed over to workers as per the set criteria and policy of the department.

The official further said that around 65,000 workers of the twin cities had already been registered with the EOBI and these houses and flats would be handed over to them on merit.



WWF is an autonomous body working under administrative control of Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development and that this department was working for the welfare of industrial workers across the country.

He said that the project would be completed at the cost of Rs3.14 billion and all basic needs would be available in this complex including shopping centre, community centre, schools, mosques and playgrounds.
