LAHORE:
The Model Town tragedy accused Gullu Butt has been released from Kot Lakhpat Jail following court orders.

A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court issued a decision on his appeal after delaying it for three weeks. Terrorism clauses were removed from his case on court orders.

The court held that Gullu Butt has undergone imprisonment of six years for ordinary crimes under Pakistan penal code.

Gullu was also charged under clauses relating to interference in the government activities and vandalism.


The accused paid fines before he was released by the jail administration in presence of his relatives.

LHC orders release of Gullu Butt

During an anti-encroachment operation outside the residence of Dr Tahirul Qadri in June 2014, Butt had vandalised private cars parked outside the premises in the presence of the police.
