Although Peshawar Zalmi made a victorious 58-run win over the Quetta Gladiators on Sunday night, the greater victory was the one claimed by Pakistanis the world over. A 30,000-strong, cricket starved crowd packed the stands in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium to witness not just the final of the exhilarating T20 tournament, but to witness how terror was defeated from the very heart of the country.

The finale showcased to the world what a nation fighting with terrorism for over a decade, could do when it united for a single cause and for its love for cricket. We fought vigourously to bring international cricket back on our turf, and showed the world that we are a peaceful nation who wants to be known for more than being a country rife with crime and terrorism.

Triumph for Pakistan, cricket: Terror clean bowled

As the PSL final ended on a high note, we look at a series of pictures of how terror was clean bowled and Pakistan won against fear.
