This Russian Embassy used JK Rowling quote to slam Western media

The quote seems to make no sense in the current context

Many officials from US President Donald Trump's circle are currently in trouble for secret meetings with Russian officials. Secret because they failed to remember the agenda of the meeting and some times the meetings themselves.

The communications have caused quite a scandal and even led to the resignation of Trump's National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn. Jeff Session, the Attorney General is also currently in hot water over his meeting.

US Attorney General under fire over Russian ambassador contacts

The meetings are causing a scandal because of widespread reports that the Russian government favoured the Republican candidate in the 2016 Presidential elections.

While the White House has tried it's best to insulate Trump from the Russian scandal, the fact that his top aides met with Kremlin contacts without informing him is a cause of concern.

The scandals have cast a fresh cloud over the Trump administration. However, the Kremlin has repeatedly denied that members of Russian government discussed US elections with Trump's team.

A recent tweet by the Russian Embassy of UK has slammed allegations against the Kremlin while also taking a jibe at the western media.

But the quote that was shared by the embassy has left us confused. The embassy used a JK Rowling quote to say that the media has hit "rock bottom" -- while we understand the sentiments (and definitely applaud the embassy's taste in authors) we can't help but wonder who picked the quote, because it seems to make no sense in the current context.

Are the media supposed to rebuild from the ashes? Is the Russian embassy hinting that they must start over because they've completely lost track of what they're doing? Did they just Google "rock bottom"and add the first quote that came up?

Guess we'll never know!
