Quetta Gladiators' foreign stars Kevin Pietersen, Luke Wright, Rilee Rossouw and Tymal Mills may have decided not to travel to Lahore for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final, but the franchise's coaching staff has shown more heart.

Following the playing quartet's withdrawal, the Gladiators revealed that team mentor Sir Vivian Richards and fielding coach Julien Fountain have decided to make the journey to Lahore.

It may only be a consolation but Sir Vivian and Fountain's gesture was much appreciated by Pakistan's cricket fans, who immediately flooded the Twitterverse with thank you messages.

Quetta Gladiators became the first team to qualify for the PSL final on Tuesday after defeating Peshawar Zalmi by just one run in a thrilling encounter.

It is the second straight year the Gladiators have qualified for the tournament's final, although they will be looking to do one better than last year when they were bested in the final match by Islamabad United.
