PSL final's tickets create unprecedented frenzy among fans
Long lines formed, scuffles broke out as most cricket lovers head home empty-handed
Cricket-deprived fans of Lahore flocked in great numbers to local banks on Wednesday in order to purchase tickets for the much-anticipated Pakistan Super League final, which will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.
After e-tickets sold out within a few hours of being made available online, those wishing to attend the T20 league final headed to local banks, only to find scores of crowd and just a handful of tickets.
Due to heavy demand and limited supply, some scuffles also broke out and a majority of the fans had to return back home empty-handed and disappointed.
The frenzy that the ticket sale created among the fans further validates the Pakistan Cricket Board's decision to hold the tournament-deciding final in Lahore.
Quetta Gladiators became the first team to qualify for the final on Tuesday after defeating Peshawar Zalmi by just one run in a thrilling encounter.
In the title-deciding match, however, they will be without their international quartet of Kevin Pietersen, Luke Wright, Rilee Rossouw and Tymal Mills — all of whom have excused themselves citing security conditions.
