Quetta Gladiators all-rounder Luke Wright was a victim of hate messages on Twitter after he, along with England compatriots and Quetta teammates Kevin Pietersen and Tymal Mills, pulled out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Lahore on March 5.

Quetta Gladiators qualified for the final on Tuesday after beating Peshawar Zalmi by just one run in their play-off tie.

However, the Grantham-born later announced that he won’t take part in the final game of the tournament due to security concerns.

Quetta Gladiators qualify for PSL final

The 31-year-old received a lot of hate filled messages in response to his tweets and he chose to respond to one of them.

Wright has represented England in 50 ODIs and 51 T20Is throughout his career. Nevertheless, he only played once for Gladiators in the current PSL season, that too in the play-off round, where he scored 12 runs and did not bowl.

Amir | 7 years ago | Reply Return of a cricket is a slow process and we should not go hard on overseas players as it will take time to build a confidence in the cricketers to come and play in Pakistan however saying that in PSL 3 PCB need to prepare a draft in a way that priority should be given to the players who are willing to play in Pakistan.

Actually, it should give us encouragement to do more and fix things in our country. Take it positively please. Thank you for your participation in PSL. ejaz | 7 years ago | Reply Don't abuse them at least...its their choice to come or not to come...They are not bound even contractually to come Pakistan rather organizing event in UAE is to attract more foreign players so if we want them to continue with PSL in future then we must respect their choices!!!

Let's give a warm welcome to the foreign players who choose to play PSL final in Lahore, and demonstrate it is safe and rewarding. Next time more foreign players will feel comfortable participating in games in Pakistan.
