Police have arrested three people for their alleged involvement in stealing electricity transformers and cables.

Officials added that they had recovered stolen cables and equipment worth Rs2.4 million from them. A number of complaints had been made about the theft of transformers and electricity wires from Sector I-16.

Locals had also raised the issue during an open court held by SSP Operations Sajid Kiani at Noon Police Station a few weeks ago. A police spokesperson said that arrest of the three suspects had come after police had pursued the men for several weeks.

The official added that they had recovered a transformer and bundles of wires worth Rs2.4 million from the suspects. The spokesperson said they expect to round up additional suspects soon.
