Jamshoro accounts official held over corruption allegations worth Rs110 million
The accused misused authority in releasing of salaries to over 100 illegally appointed teachers - NAB

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), on Tuesday, rounded up former assistant district accounts officer Jamshoro over allegations of corruption and misusing of authority.
“NAB Karachi arrested Masroor Ahmed Khan, former Assistant District Accounts Officer Jamshoro, from Karachi wanted in investigation no 264574/2016 registered against officers and officials of Education Dept District Jamshoro and others on allegations of illegal appointments and bogus payments,” said a statement issued by the accountability watchdog.
It said the suspect is currently posted as admin officer at the Karachi office of accountant general Sindh. “The arrested accused misused his authority in releasing of salaries to more than 100 illegally appointed special cadre teachers,” the communiqué said.
NAB devises internal accountability system
“The said investigation has substantially established that more than 100 appointees of the Education Dept under categories of oriental teachers, physical training instructors, drawing teachers and assistant workshop instructors were illegally appointed in District Jamshoro without following proper procedure as provided in law rules and regulations,” it added.
According to NAB, the suspect in connivance with other officials of the department illegally released salaries worth Rs110 million over a period of four years. “Officials of the district education department wanted in the investigation are on bail.”
The suspect will be produced before an accountability court in Hyderabad for physical remand, it said.
