Dev Patel attends Oscars with mum and everyone's loving it
Indian-origin British actor Dev Patel who was is in contention for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role trophy for Lion at the Oscars - brought his mother Anita to attend the 89th awards ceremony.
The award gala was held at Dolby Theatre on Sunday.
Discussing his experience at the Oscar's red carpet, Dev said: "It is mind blowing. It is amazing. I am here with my mom... It is a beautiful and special moment and I am absorbing it now."
People gushed over Dev's extremely heart-touching gesture to keep mum by his side on the prestigious night.
Dev looked dapper in a white Burberry tuxedo, while his mother looked elegant in a black sari, adding a touch of bling with gold work on it. With her hair tied up in a bun, Dev's mother opted to don a minimalistic vibe with just long earrings to finish up her look.
Lion, based on Saroo Brierley's best-selling autobiography A Long Way Home, is a true story about an Indian boy who falls asleep on a train only to wake up and realise he is miles away from home in a strange land where he does not speak their language.
Dev also had his eight-year-old Lion co-star Sunny Pawar at the red carpet.
Talking about Sunny, Dev said: "He was icing on top and it was beautiful to work with him."
Dev also won a BAFTA Award for the Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Lion earlier this month.
