Chinese engineer injured by 'own guard's firing' in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A Chinese engineer was "accidentally fired at" by his own security guard near Jaranwala, Faisalabad on Monday.

Engineer Jiawg Hang Yuw, 26, was rushed to Civil Hospital, Faisalabad after being shot in the leg.

Yuw was traveling on the Lahore-Karachi highway on a motorcycle along with his guard, Waris, when the latter's rifle accidentally went off due to an uneven road.

On January 12, a Japanese national committed suicide by jumping off a hotel building here in Multan. Toku Moro, 35, resided with his wife at a private hotel at old Bahawalpur Road in Multan.

Toku Moro was a civil engineer, working over a Japanese project of building a National Highway stretching from tribal areas of District Dera Ghazi Khan to Balochistan.

According to a note left by the engineer, he committed suicide becuase of strife with his wife. It read: "I love my wife very much. But she does not want to live with me and wants to end our marriage. I am very sad. Due to this reason I am ending my life. I have no reason to live anymore."
