Setting the example

Letter February 27, 2017
I am hoping to see the CM in dozens of public places

LAHORE: The expected panic has gripped the populace of Lahore, driven mostly by imagined fear and self-preservation taken too far. While it is for each one of us to respond to wanton terrorism in a defiant and united manner, it would be both useful and motivational for the otherwise dynamic Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to set an example.

The CM should make it his most immediate and pressing task to be seen as much in public places as is humanly possible. Of course, his essential security must be ensured but unannounced presence in a Lahore bazaar, restaurant, park, and even some schools carries little risk. It would do wonders for the morale of zindadilaan-e-Lahore and restore much needed vitality and positive energy to our city. I am hoping to see the CM in dozens of public places.
