PSG tried to sell Di Maria to China: report
Former Real Madrid winger found the move to be disrespectful
French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) tried to sell star winger Angel Di Maria to China, newspaper L'Equipe reported.
Les Rouge-et-Bleu were unimpressed with the form of the former Real Madrid attacker earlier in the season.
After PSG’s humiliating 3-0 defeat against Montpellier in December, the club's sports management team had sounded out a move for the player to the Chinese Super League, and the move also received the blessings of the manager Unai Emery.
The 29-year-old first was unaware of the development, but later found it offensive and disrespectful.
“Angel really did not like it,” one of the player's relatives told L'Equipe. “He found it disrespectful.”
The Argentine international was the star performer for PSG in the first-leg of the Champions League round-of-16 tie against Barcelona, where he struck a brace and helped his team to an emphatic 4-0 win over Catalan Giants.
