Child Torture Case: Magistrate tells police to file charges
A district court had dismissed a case after the girl’s parents had forgiven the judge
ISLAMABAD:
Judicial Magistrate Islamabad Haider Shah on Saturday directed police to submit complete challan into torture of a girl recovered from the home of a judge, within two weeks.
While hearing the case, the court accepted the plea of suspects Judge Raja Khurram and his wife Maheen Zafar to exempt them for appearing before the court for a day.
Top court overrules ‘pardon’ to child maid ‘tormentors’
They were directed appear on March 25. Additional District and Sessions Judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his wife Maheen Zafar were booked by the Industrial Area police on December 29, on allegations of keeping 10-year-old girl in wrongful confinement, burning her hand over a missing broom, beating her with a ladle, detaining her in storeroom and threatening her of even worse.
