ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Friday directed to suspend principal of Model Seminary Islamabad Shagufta Abdul Rauf for pocketing funds meant for students and referred her corruption case to FIA for probe. Madressah Education Board Chairman Dr Aamir Tauseen shared the findings of an inquiry report against Shagufta in the meeting, chaired by Senator Hamdullah. He said that there had been alleged embezzlement of Rs5.5 million. Dr Tauseen said the former principal had been receiving Rs500 per head stipend of over 600 students of Model Madressah for females for nine years on fake signatures.
