Never-ending road construction

I fail to identify the reason as to why the University Road was demolished in the first place

KARACHI: Being a frequent traveller of University Road, which is currently under construction and has been so for the last two months, I fail to identify the reason as to why the road was demolished in the first place. I initially assumed the authorities are working to join a greater part of the service road with the main road for wider space but now that no such picture has emerged after one of the two lanes was reconstructed, I am baffled as to why we are caused all the inconvenience. If there is another motive for the reconstruction, which seems unnecessary for the common man, who only cares about reaching his or her place of work on time, then it should have been made known to the people to help reduce their frustration which arises every single day when their vehicle jumps and stumps on broken stones lying on the road.

The demolition of both lanes of the road has caused the surroundings to be polluted. What we presume to be fog in the sky is actually the dust and waste of the rubble leftover. There is no need to point out the obvious fact that the pace of the work being done is disgustingly slow. A common citizen can only wish for the authorities to have mercy and, if not make things better, at least, do not make matters worse for us.
