K-P Education Bill 2017: NGO picks out missing clauses
According to the bill, the government shall provide free compulsory education at primary and secondary levels

A non-governmental organisation has demanded a review of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Free and Compulsory Primary and Secondary Education Bill 2017 after claiming it is missing 22 provisions.
The PTI-led government presented the long-awaited bill in the K-P Assembly on February 6.

According to the bill, the government shall provide free compulsory education at primary and secondary levels across the province to all children aged between 5 and 16 years. It also prescribes penalties for parents who do not allow their children to go to school.
Comparing the bill with similar legislation passed by other provinces, Pakistan Coalition for Education (PCE) said it is missing 22 points.
According to the PCE report, the provisions for the government to make rules are not defined in the bill in detail.
