SHABQADAR:
A local pro-government tribal elder has been killed while his wife sustained injuries in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in lower Mohmand Agency on Wednesday.
The Mohmand political administration confirmed the IED blast in Dawizai area of tehsil Pandyali. The victim has been identified as Bahadur Khan.
The statement went on to say that the IED had been planted outside the home of the victims.
The blast occurred when Khan stepped on the explosive. He died on the spot while his wife sustained injuries.

Moreover, security forces have cordoned off the area as a search operation is underway.
Meanwhile, security was on high alert following the Ghalanai suicide attack.
The main Ghalanai and Ekka Ghund bazaars also saw less crowds since the attack took place.
