The Express Tribune has obtained images of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Jamaatul Ahrar camps and training compounds in Afghanistan being decimated in artillery shelling by Pakistani forces.

Pakistani forces have been shelling camps of the two banned groups in response to the recent terror wave across the country. Nearly a dozen training camps and hideouts have been destroyed and over a dozen terrorists — including a top trainer of suicide bombers — have been killed in two days of artillery shelling.

    So the question is, if the military / government know about the existence of these camps why are waiting for a huge terrorist incident to move to dismantle them? Is this just a show? Recommend

    As many other people have asked this question, if the location of these terrorist camps was known to the security apparatus, why did they not destroy these earlier. What sort of intelligence break throughs were achieved in the 24 hours after the bomb blasts which has eluded our spies previously?Recommend

    Those camps are there. Perhaps there are some name boards too. But then , will they wait to die in shelling ? Recommend

    @Nael:

    The answer is, these are innocent neighborhoods and not terrorist camps taht are being bombed.

    Have you ever heard of terrorists training amid residential neighborhoods, that too in roofed constructions? This is to fool Pakistanis.Recommend

    Why was action taken only after hundreds of innocents lost lives? could not these be destroyed before they killed people in Sehwan, Lahore and elsewhere. Recommend

    For people asking why hideouts were not hit previously if there location were known? These hideouts are in Afghanistan territory, and without proper reason (i.e. before the carnage) if Pakistan attacked, it would be considered an act of war internationally. Now we have reason to hit them, just as same when America invaded Afghanistan.Recommend

    I looks like these camps were already evacuated. There is not a single soul seen in any of the pictures, even from the buildings that are intact. Highly improbable that people would stay inside when there is bombing happening next door.Recommend
