67 arrested for selling kites in Pindi

RAWALPINDI: In their ongoing crackdown against kite-sellers, Rawalpindi police on Saturday said they had arrested 67 violators besides recovering 3,344 kites and at least 11 kite rolls of string from their possession.

According to police spokesperson, they have been conducting raids against kite sellers and flyers in the city following special directions from the Punjab government and City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Abbasi.

RA Bazzar police arrested Waqas after 50 kites and rolls of string were recovered from him. While Ahsan, Zain, Waqas, Khurram, Tabish and Abdul Basit were detained for carrying 300 kites and rolls
of string.

Race Course police nabbed Abdul Qayyum with 50 kites and three rolls of string.

Afzal and Azam were rounded up for possessing 500 kites and five rolls of string.
