LAHORE: The government considers the welfare and well-being of the people its prime objective, said Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif while presiding over a meeting on Saturday. “Education, healthcare, provision of clean drinking water and other social sectors are our priorities,” he said while reviewing progress of ongoing projects. Shehbaz said every step was being taken for the welfare of the poor and provision of basic amenities to them. “The pace of development, with which the schemes of public welfare are being completed, is unprecedented,” he said, adding transparency and high standards were ensured in the development projects. The chief minister said the government had provided much more resources for development and prosperity of southern Punjab as compared to its population.
