Awais Akram, 23, a student of a local university, was setting up an internet connection in his house when he accidently touched the power line and was burnt to death within seconds, police said.
A resident of Ghauri Town, which lies in the outskirts of the city, Akram went upstairs to take measurements for laying the internet cables with the help of a friend. He could not see the wire passing over their house and accidently came into contact with it. “He was hit by a high power electric shock and died on the spot,” the Koral area police were told by the family of the boy.
However, he was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where doctors confirmed that he had already died.
