Shame on them (II)

May 14, 2010

LONDON: Frankly speaking I’m against the whole degree requirement for contesting an election to parliament.

Are we that elitist that we are willing to disenfranchise the majority of our population from contesting elections simply because they are unable to afford a higher education? An education doesn’t guarantee any great moral or ethical character. This entire requirement has forced parliamentarians to stoop low enough to buy degrees.
