Resource constraint: SC moved to resolve gas distribution

SC accepts petition to hear case for equal distribution of natural gas to the provinces.

The Supreme Court accepted a petition, filed by citizens of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and industrialists of Punjab, to hear the case for equal distribution of natural gas to the provinces, and issued a notice to the attorney-general in this regard.

A bench, headed by Justice Tassaduq Jillani, recommended a plea to the Chief Justice for the formation of larger bench to hear the case.

Talking to Express 24/7, the petitioner’s counsel, Salman Raja, said they moved the Supreme Court against the Peshawar High Court’s decision from last December that blocked resolution of the issue through constitutional channels.
