Early Detection: Thalassemia law to screen carriers
Dr Fazal said the screening would help identify and treat Thalassemia carriers
ISLAMABAD:
Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry Thursday said the recently passed Thalassemia bill would make it compulsory for health institution and the family of the thalassemia patients to screen the immediate family of an affected patient. Dr Fazal said the screening would help identify and treat Thalassemia carriers, who could become potential breeders of the disease if married to another Thalassemia carrier.
