Targeted raids 10 ‘criminals’ arrested

At least four criminals were arrested during targeted raids conducted in Landi, Baldia and Orangi Town areas

KARACHI: Nearly 10 suspected criminals, including political workers and sectarian-based target killers, were arrested during ongoing targeted raids in parts of the metropolis on Wednesday.

At least four criminals were arrested during targeted raids conducted in Landi, Baldia and Orangi Town areas. According to Rangers spokesperson, a member of a militant wing of a political party and two culprits involved in sectarian-based targeted killings were among the arrested criminals while arms and ammunitions were also recovered from their possession.

The paramilitary troops also conducted targeted raids in Shah Faisal Colony, Jamshed Town and Lyari neighbourhoods. Six criminals were arrested during these raids, said the Rangers spokesperson, adding that two members of a militant wing of a political party, a Lyari-based gangster and an extortionist were among the arrested men. Rangers also claimed to have recovered weapons from their possession. The suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for further questioning.
