LAHORE: As per reports from the Punjab Censor Board, the upcoming Akshay Kumar-starrer Jolly LLB 2 will most likely not release in Punjab.

The Subhash Kapoor directorial is in hot waters for its negative portrayal of Muslims in Kashmir. "For this reason, we are avoiding giving the film a censor clearance certificate. It could be banned from release in Punjab but we are still deciding its fate," said an official of the Punjab Censor Board, requesting anonymity.

Central Board of Film Certification chairman Mobashir Hasan added, "The film has been approved for public screening after recommending several excisions. Now it is upto the distributors, whether they want to release it or not. It has been cleared by the censor board."

Speaking about this, an official from Distribution Club, the local distributors of the film, revealed, "Most of the important scenes have been removed from Jolly LLB 2. We are worried because we won't have anything to show to the public."

However, sources told The Express Tribune that local distributors are in talks with producers of the film about whether they want an edited version to be released.
