The PM was flanked by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain. POF Chairman Lt-General Umar Hayyat was also present on the occasion, according to a press release.
The factory, which is fulfilling the defence needs of the country, has become the biggest factory of South Asia after the latest improvement. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and facilities.
The prime minister also visited various parts of the mill and witnessed brass making. He was briefed by the officials about processing, technology and quality of product being produced in Wah Brass.
Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister said: “The team of Wah Brass will continue its efforts to play a vital role in the economic augmentation of Pakistan.” On the occasion, the prime minister announced 25% allowance and two annual increments for the staff of Pakistan Ordnance Factories.
