Green planet: Earth Hour 2011 launch ceremony held at Roots
Earth hour to be celebrated by green school members of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Earth Hour will be celebrated by green school members of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. A launching ceremony for the purpose was held at Roots School System Nazimuddin Road campus, said a press release. Around 100 students from Roots, Beaconhouse, Ace International and Froebel’s participated in the ceremony.
The initiative started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. A record 128 countries joined the global display of climate action, with the lighting of many iconic buildings and landmarks switched off.
Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday, March 26 at 8:30pm.
