This was stated by Senator Farhatullah Babar while speaking at the launch of a book in Islamabad on Friday.
“We live in perilous times as not only ordinary citizens go missing and disappear without trace but even the Father of the Nation has gone missing from the collective memory of the nation as his ideas and vision have been systematically distorted and erased,” he said.
The book, “Jinnah as a parliamentarian”, has been written by noted human rights activist IA Rehman along with contributions from posthumous writers Malik Mohammad Jaffer and Ghani Jafar Malik. It talks about the role Quaid-e-Azam played as a parliamentarian.
Rehman, a journalist and human rights activist, said that the book presents a selection of the Jinnah’s speeches on a number of subjects.
Lok Virsa Executive Director Fouzia Saeed said that Rehman was an institution who is a role model for young journalists and engaged citizens.
