The aftermath: ‘Let’s join hands to stop gang wars’
Rangers DG visits Lyari, urges parents to educate their kids
KARACHI:
A day after paramilitary personnel killed one of Lyari's most infamous gangsters, Baba Ladla, and two of his accomplices in a gun fight, the Rangers, Sindh chief visited the troubled neighbourhood and urged parents and teachers to educate youth. He said they must make sure that no one forms gangs such as those of Baba Ladla and Uzair Baloch again.
The director-general of the Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, Major-General Mohammad Saeed, visited parts of Lyari including Nawa Lane, Mira Naka and Gabol Park on Friday and was given a briefing on the ongoing operation in the neighbourhood. "The paramilitary troops will not let anyone spoil the prevailing peace in Lyari," he assured residents and warned that all those involved in abetting miscreants would also be taken to task.
Major-General Saeed also appreciated the performance of the Rangers troops for killing Ladla and his companions during Thursday's operation. He said that the residents of Lyari, particularly parents and teachers, while playing their role in maintaining peace in Lyari should also involve youth in positive activities and play their role to make sure that no one creates.
