Substandard: Over 30 health care set-ups sealed in Abbottabad, Haripur

Number of crackdowns were launched oh hospitals after they were found involved in violation of rules and regulations

PESHAWAR:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission Friday said it had launched a crackdown against illegal and substandard health care set-ups across the province, sealing over 30 such set-ups in Hazara division.

According to a statement released on Friday, a number of crackdowns were launched in Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur with as many as 44 private outlets being sealed. Around 42 were issued notices of fines of Rs200,000 imposed after they were found involved in serious violation of rules and regulations.


These health care set-ups included hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories and dental clinics. They were sealed for poor hygienic conditions, employing non-qualified and untrained clinical staff and violating standard procedures of the health care commission.

According to district wise details 10 set-ups were sealed and eight were issued notices in Abbottabad, 11 were sealed and 10 were issued notices in Mansehra, while 10 were sealed and four issued notices in Haripur.
