ISLAMABAD: Police have submitted a charge-sheet against a suspended additional district and sessions judge and his wife who are accused of torturing and abusing child maid Tayyaba.

The charge-sheet was submitted to judicial magistrate Haider Shah by the Industrial Area police on Wednesday, as the Islamabad High Court has been tasked by the Supreme Court to decide on a court of trial for the case. Once decided, the charge-sheet or challan will be submitted to that court and a formal trial would begin in the case.

The judge has been granted interim pre-arrest bail until February 10.

The child, meanwhile, has been living at the orphanage ever since the Supreme Court exercised parental jurisdiction in the case.

Currently, the sessions court, the Islamabad High Court and the Supreme Court are simultaneously dealing with different aspects of the minor maid’s case.
