Hajj scam: CJ slams FIA over inaction

CJ says no action has been taken against those who appointed DG Hajj.

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry slammed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday for inaction in the Hajj corruption case.

The chief justice, who headed the bench, hearing the case, asked why no action had been taken against those who appointed former DG Hajj Rao Shakeel, even though his appointment was illegal.

The court also observed that no action had been taken against Ahmad Faiz, the main accused in the case.

Director FIA Hussain Asghar told the court that former Religious Affairs Minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi had appointed Ahmad Faiz, while FIA's additional director said that the agency was facing difficulties in ascertaining the actual amount embezzled in the Hajj scam.

Isn't he a PCO judge who is prosecuting his Fellow PCO Judges for taking Oath under PCO? Didn't he delay the Proceedings against President Zardari indefinitely in NAB References to please Mush? We got to have strong memories if we to gauge the personalities of Political juglers.

Abdul Ali | 13 years ago | Reply This government is a blight on Pakistan The governance is in a mess, there is lack of direction on policy matters and now they call a strike against decision of the highest court of the country. all they have done is encouraged corruption and employed cronies who have ruined national institutions

How can on institution only stop corruption in the national institutions like FIA and NAB, the public show take part actively to save the country otherwise the days are counted for our economy and all the looters will run away from here with money. The Chief justice should also make some correction in sub ordinate judiciary, right from civil courts.
