Oscar-nominated Iranian director to miss ceremony after Trump's Muslim ban
Visas will not be issued to national from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen for the coming 90 days
Following the ban on certain Muslim countries by US President Donald Trump, Iranian director Asghar Farhadi will not be able to participate in this year’s Oscar ceremony, reported The Independent.
In an announcement earlier this week, US President barred nationals of seven Muslim countries from entering United States and Iran was also on the list. Farhadi whose film The Salesman has been nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category will not be able support his film on the ceremony set to take place in Hollywood on February 28.

Trita Parsi, and individual who leads the largest Iranian-American grassroots organisation, National Iranian American Council confirmed the news on twitter.
The US president put a four-month ban on all refugees from entering the country and a complete ban on anyone from Syria. Visas will not be issued to national from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen for the coming 90 days.
