Fox has ordered a pilot for a brand new series, loosely based on Behind Enemy Lines and described it as a “military soap thriller.” The story will reportedly follow a group of American soldiers who find themselves stuck in their enemies’ territory – or literally, behind enemy lines. It will see field soldiers, officers and service men and women on an aircraft carrier and intelligence officers in the American capital Washington DC, working to bring the trapped soldiers home without much hullabaloo.

The hour-long pilot has been penned 24: Legacy producer Nikki Toscano. Twentieth Century Fox Television will be producing the episode, along with Temple Hill and Davis Entertainment.
Interestingly, Fox seems very keen on reboots of late. This season alone, the network has brought back 24: Legacy, Prison Break and The Exorcist. Behind Enemy Lines is the third in Fox’s bundle of pilots, with post-apocalyptic vampire drama The Passage and an X-Men episode also in the pipeline.
In the field of comedies, Fox has taken up pilots for Ghosted, Linda from HR and Thin Ice.
