Training the youth: Media-TEVTA partnership termed inevitable    

Chinese language courses and other state-of-the-art skill development programmes have also been introduced

LAHORE: Media can play a significant role in training unemployed youth in employable trades, said Technical Education Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh on Thursday.

Media’s cooperation with Tevta can achieve its goals to provide job opportunities to unemployed youth in Punjab, he said while briefing senior journalists from print and electronic media at Tevta Secretariat.

Tevta, he added, is the premier body across the country in vocational training sector and its prime goal is engaging the unemployed youth in job oriented skills.

While giving an overview of performance, Irfan said Tevta was offering demand-driven courses in hospitality, software development, and construction industry.

Chinese language courses and other state-of-the-art skill development programmes have also been introduced across Punjab.
